Interesting facts about breathing
Cleaning and energizing: 70% of our body's toxins are exhaled through the lungs. Deep breathing flushes the excess carbon dioxide from our body and replaces it with a rich supply of cell-renewing oxygen.
Activation of the CNS: Through conscious breathing, we activate our nervous system voluntarily. In doing so, we can positively influence both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems (vagus). By breathing in, we activate the body, and by breathing out in a relaxed manner, we can regulate it.
Hypofrontality: This happens when the prefrontal cortex goes offline. The analytical and critical mind that is programmed for survival is temporarily switched off, while powerful neurotransmitters for growth, love and peace can go online.
Influence on the brain: Conscious breathing influences the neuroplasticity of the brain. When we consciously have new experiences, our brain can restructure itself. Old behavior and thought patterns can be transformed.
Access to the subconscious: Memories that we have made in our lives are stored somatically. Through the breath we can come back into contact with inner images, emotions or body sensations. In this way, we have the opportunity to review them, release them and integration can take place.
Conscious Connected Breathing causes physiological changes in the body and this can also lead to an intense physical and emotional release. In group sessions or when breathing online, please pay attention to your individual limits and breathe more gently if necessary or use the session as a meditation for yourself. The most important thing is that you feel safe and comfortable. Know that you are supported in the group and in my company. If in doubt, you are welcome to contact me or ask your doctor in advance whether this type of breathing work is safe for you.

After a basic physical diagnosis, psychosomatic-psychological help can be very supportive in order to better regulate inner conflicts, fears and worries as well as mood swings. Here in particular, conscious breathing and the psychosomatic approach of body psychotherapy offer many treatment options as well as promising relief from symptoms.

Body psychotherapy
General information on body psychotherapy
Body psychotherapy is a psychotherapeutic approach in which the body is used exploratively to raise awareness of the body and psychosomatic problems and to support the regulation and healing of emotional experiences. Skills such as self-awareness, self-care and self-regulation are developed.
The founder is Wilhelm Reich, a student of Freud. At a time when psychotherapy was still purely linguistic, he observed that the neuroses reported by patients can also be represented physically and can become chronic in so-called character structures. This means that, depending on the character type, the body displays a classic physical defense: This can manifest itself in breathing patterns, states of tension and also altered patterns of perception and behavior.
Wilhelm Reich discovered that when the body is activated through breathing or bodywork (vegeto-therapy), the past experiences stored in the tissue come back into consciousness and can now be discussed in a new integrative and healing way. The vasomotor cycle can come to completion.
Techniques and methods of modern body psychotherapy combine ideas and methods of humanistic, existential and transpersonal psychology.
These therapies are based on the fundamental assumption that we humans are self-regulating systems! If a person has a psychological or psychosomatic problem, it is not a blockage of vital energy, nerves or muscles, but a blockage of self-regulation. There is an inherent power in people that always strives for healing and health.
To get to the point:
Body psychotherapy involves working directly with the client's body archive and the emotions they have defended against. Through conscious breathing, explorative bodywork and allowing self-expression, blockages in self-regulation can be released, which supports integration and healing.
